This garden of approximately ¾ of an acre was devoid of colour, with level changes resolved using ugly rendered retaining walls. In the front, the garden was given over to a large area of resin bonded gravel, for parking. It was decided to remove as much of the retaining walling as possible, and plant banks, either of a wildflower mix, or of herbaceous planting with a long flowering season. In the front, the drive was reduced without compromising its functionality, and more planting was added in front of the house to create a sense of arrival
