The first phase of this project was to give the house a garden to sit in, rather than surrounding it with cars and gravel. A new parking area was relocated behind a beech hedge, levels were altered, and a series of garden rooms were built, to wrap around the house. Reclaimed York stone paving was laid, and box hedges marked the edge of beds filled with seasonal and long flowering shrubs and perennials.
